Blue Meets Glacier

When the new Danes arrived at Finesse, we brought first Blue to meet our resident Dane, Glacier. It being a rather unseasonably warm day, we let them meet outside, in a snowy field. The two weren't so sure about each other, keeping their distance at first. Blue gave her handler a "Do I have to be social?" look, while Glacier, who sort of hid behind her handler's legs, gave a reluctant tail wag and perked her ears forward in a shy little "Hi". We gave them some supervised time to greet each other at their own pace, and after a bit, Glacier poked her head out from behind her handler's legs and a bit closer toward Blue, who gave her a good sniffing over. Giving them some more slack on the leashes, we let the two sniff noses, then they circled each other, tails wagging more rapidly now as they thoroughly sniffed one another. Blue lowered her shoulders and opened her mouth, letting her tongue loll out, and Glacier let out a small bark. Soon, the two were playing together, romping through the powdery snow.
